About the role

As a Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the server-side logic, databases, and APIs that power our applications. You will focus on creating highly scalable, secure, and performant systems that seamlessly integrate with frontend and mobile interfaces. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will tackle complex data architecture challenges, optimize application performance, and ensure the reliability of our core infrastructure.

Requirements

Strong proficiency in writing idiomatic Rust code.
Deep understanding of Rust’s ownership model, borrowing, lifetimes, and memory management.
Experience with asynchronous programming in Rust (e.g., Tokio, async-std).
Familiarity with popular Rust web frameworks (e.g., Actix-web, Axum, or Rocket) and ORMs/query builders (e.g., SQLx, Diesel).
Extensive experience designing normalized relational databases and handling large datasets.
Proficiency in writing advanced SQL queries, utilizing CTEs, window functions, and complex joins.
Experience with query profiling, indexing strategies, and analyzing EXPLAIN execution plans.
Knowledge of database transaction isolation levels, connection pooling, and concurrency control.
Strong command-line proficiency and deep understanding of Linux system internals.
Experience with bash/shell scripting for automation and system administration.
Understanding of Linux networking (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, load balancing) and security (ufw, iptables, SSH management).
Ability to troubleshoot system performance using native tools (e.g., htop, strace, netstat, journalctl).
Hands-on experience writing optimized, multi-stage Dockerfiles for compiled languages like Rust.
Proficiency in using Docker Compose for local development and multi-container orchestration.
Understanding of container networking, volumes, and security best practices (e.g., running as non-root).
